Stephanie Grisham was named the new White House press secretary June 25, replacing Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Grisham most recently served as a top aide to first lady Melania Trump. The first lady announced the new press secretary on Twitter.
“I am pleased to announce @StephGrisham45 will be the next @PressSec and Comms Director!” Melania Trump tweeted. “She has been with us since 2015 — @potus & I can think of no better person to serve the Administration & our country. Excited to have Stephanie working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse. #BeBest”
Grisham served as the spokeswoman for previous Arizona Attorney General Tom Horne in 2013 and then-Arizona House Speaker David Gowen in 2014.
She began working for the Trump campaign in 2015. Grisham joined the administration as a special assistant to the president and deputy press secretary after President Donald Trump’s inauguration.
