The discount will be available to residents who register for recreation programming through the GilbertRecreation.com website until the town’s funding is exhausted.
The money comes from the AZCares program from the state. Gilbert Town Council’s AZCares subcommittee allocated $400,000 for this use from the town’s more than $29 million it got from the state in AZCares.
Gilbert Parks and Recreation Manager John Kennedy said the money provides support to the physical and mental well-being of residents during the pandemic.
Parks and recreation programming ranges from early childhood education classes to arts and crafts and adult fitness programs. The full offerings are available through the GilbertRecreation.com website.
