The town of Gilbert is seeking public input as it works on updating the town’s land development code.

A “refresh” draft document on the code has been released and is available for public review with input being accepted by email at [email protected] through July 28.

The effort on the code is at the direction of town council. It has focused on five areas:

Identifying obsolete regulations and remove redundant text;

Clarifying unclear regulations;

Simplifying the code language and layout;

Supplementing or replacing text with tables/graphics;

Providing links and references to proactively anticipate questions.

Comments will be discussed at the Gilbert Planning Commission’s study session Aug. 4.

After the study session, the code will undergo a series of three hearings: Aug. 18 with the redevelopment commission; Sept. 1 with the planning commission; and Sept. 21 with town council.
