As a result of the construction, pedestrian trails at the site, 5250 S. Higley Road, on the northeast corner of Ocotillo and Higley roads, are closed through the duration of the project, set to be completed in April 2022.
The $6.7 million project will install four new basins on the site’s southern half and extend the delivery canal, as well as add other efficiencies at the site.
Additionally, trees will be purchased and installed around the new basins and canal, the parking lot will be paved and parking lot lights will be added for security.
Excavation on the site will begin in August. Residents will see increased trucking and hauling in the area, and a lane restriction may be put in place on Higley Road.
Work will take place Monday-Friday during daylight hours.
The project is being paid for from the town’s wastewaster fund and system development fees.
