The openings are:
- Three volunteer positions for six-year terms on the Industrial Development Authority. The authority is a public corporation that recommends to Gilbert Town Council projects the town should endorse for tax-exempt, low-interest bond financing made available by federal law for certain eligible construction projects. It typically meets annually.
- One volunteer position on the Gilbert Self-Insured Trust Board. Trustees, who have three-year terms, serve as fiduciaries to the town’s self-funded medical and dental plans as well as the workers’ compensation plan and management of the trusts. They provide oversight of plan administration and financials and make recommendations to council regarding risk retention and reinsurance options and funding requirements. The board typically meets quarterly or as needed.
The deadline to submit an application is 11:59 p.m. Jan. 31. More information and the application can be found on the town website.
The town previously announced an opening for an attorney to serve on the Judicial Selection and Advisory Board.
