Jenn Daniels says timing was right to leave Gilbert mayoral post

The morning after Jenn Daniels dropped her surprise resignation upon Gilbert Town Council, the now-former mayor said it was simply time to leave the post.

I Heart Mac & Cheese announced Aug. 11 it will open three franchise locations in Arizona, including one in Gilbert. A site in the town has not been selected yet, according to the company, but it anticipates opening in spring 2021. The fast-casual restaurant specializes in build-your-own macaroni and cheese bowls and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Gilbert Fire & Rescue Department will host a virtual open house at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 to discuss the possibility of the town expanding its ambulance line of service.
