The council is moving its meetings from Thursdays to Tuesdays starting with the Jan. 7 meeting. The start time remains 6:30 p.m. at the Gilbert Municipal Building I, 50 E. Civic Center Drive, Gilbert.
The town is moving the meetings to give a better start for items to be followed up on, officials said. The town employs a four-day work week Monday through Thursday, so meetings came at week’s end. Follow-ups would not start until Monday.
“I am excited to be changing council meetings from Thursdays to Tuesdays in 2020,” Mayor Jenn Daniels said by email. “This change will not only improve efficiency allowing staff to begin follow up on requests the day after meetings instead of waiting until after the weekend, but it will also provide a better work-life balance for everyone.”
