Twisted Chef Cantina set to open Oct. 4 in Gilbert

Plans call for Twisted Chef Cantina to open Oct. 4 after a major remodel and change of concept at 748 N. Gilbert Road, Gilbert. The restaurant previously had been branded Panda Libre, then Kung Pow Restaurant. It will serve burgers, sandwiches, pizza, Mexican and Asian food.

Cactus Rose Boutique opened June 1 at 3143 E. Williams Field Road, Ste. 101, Gilbert. It formerly was an online-only store and sells Western chic women’s clothing.

Gypsy Cup plans to open in November at 366 N. Gilbert Road, Gilbert, in the Heritage Marketplace. The coffee shop has been operating a food truck. It will serve crafted espresso drinks, coffee, three cold brew flavors and three flavors on nitro.

Freeride Bike Co. owner’s passion becomes business in childhood neighborhood

Brian Morris grew up near Higley and Williams Field roads and can remember riding his bike to the local convenience store near the southwest corner along Williams Field.

Now at age 46, Morris has turned that childhood memory into his life’s work at the Freeride Bike Co. in the same building where the convenience store once was.

Chandler-based Bashas' Family of Stores announced Oct. 1 that the company signed an agreement to be acquired by Raley’s Holding Co., an independent regional grocer based in California, according to a news release from Bashas'.
