Cracker Barrel Old Country Store opened its location at 1799 N. Higley Road, Gilbert, on Feb. 15. Each site of the chain features a gift store and a restaurant with a Southern, country theme.

Aldi US, the American branch of the German discount grocer, is opening an Aldi grocery store Feb. 15 at 1801 E. Pecos Road, Gilbert. Aldi specializes in exclusively produced, custom-branded products at low prices offered in small, no-frills stores.

Joe Johnston long had an idea for a farm-to-table restaurant that would be built on the farmland he grew up on in Gilbert.
