COVID-19: Gilbert sees increase of 50 cases over weekend; county has increase of 150 cases and no deaths

Across Gilbert's six ZIP codes, there were 5,066 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 21, according to data from the state. That's an increase of 50 cases from over the weekend. That represents an increase of 1.91% across the town in the past seven days.

Three businesses coming to Verde at Cooley Station



Verde at Cooley Station developers have announced three more businesses coming to the development that is under construction at Williams Field and Recker roads. It anticipates opening in fall 2021.

State sees 233 COVID-19 cases Sept. 21, Chandler sees increase of 36 cases over weekend

Across Chandler's six ZIP codes, there were 6,982 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 21, according to data from the state—an increase of 36 reported cases from over the weekend. That overall number of cases represents an increase of 1.47% across the city in the past seven days.

Data dashboard: Chandler USD reports no COVID-19 cases in first week of in-person elementary school

Chandler USD released its COVID-19 data dashboard last week, and students in kindergarten through second grade went back to their brick-and-mortar classrooms. With the district's youngest students back on campus for one week, Chandler USD has reported no COVID-19 cases.

Chandler City Council approves more than 30 agenda items at meeting

On Sept. 17, Chandler City Council met and approved more than 30 agenda items including agreements to move forward on a veterans memorial and several road construction projects.

COVID-19: Number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations declining across Arizona

The Arizona Department of Health Services has tracked COVID-19 hospitalization data since early April, and in recent days and weeks the number of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients admitted to a hospital has climbed. Of the 1,386,657 COVID-19 tests in Arizona, 11.5% have yielded positive results as of Sept. 21. This accounts for diagnostic test results, not antibody test results.
