The coronavirus is affecting the entire world, including the town of Gilbert. Here are the Gilbert, Maricopa County and statewide updates that residents need to know.

The six ZIP codes that cover Gilbert have 262 confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to data from the Arizona Department of Health Services.

The Arizona Department of Health Services reports 14,170 confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the state on May 18, an increase of 233 from the previous day. The death toll is now 686, an increase of six from the previous day.

Maricopa County Department of Public Health is reporting 7,225 confirmed COVID-19 across the county, an increase of 188 from the previous day. The county also reports 310 virus-related deaths, an increase of six from the previous day. Of the reported deaths, 223 are tied to residents of long-term care facilities according to the county.
