Funding for seniors

Organizations that support senior citizens, the homebound and those who are medically fragile received a $300,000 grant from the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund, Gov. Doug Ducey announced March 15.

The funding will support organizations that have provided aid to vulnerable populations impacted by COVID-19, by assisting with grocery shopping, meal deliveries, transportation to medical appointments, emergency errands and social interaction during a time of physical distancing.

Recipients of the funding include the Foundation for Senior Living, Benevilla and Aster Aging.

Gov. Ducey established the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund as part of the Arizona Together Initiative to provide financial support to non-profit organizations serving Arizonans most in need statewide. The fund has collected more than $8.2 million to date.
