Guy Fieri's Flavortown Kitchen open in Gilbert for delivery only


Joining a number of virtual locations in the U.S., Guy Fieri's Flavortown Kitchen launched a virtual kitchen operating from Gilbert in February. The delivery-only service offers a number of dishes created by the Food Network personality, including Cajun chicken Alfredo, cheesesteak eggrolls, cheeseburgers, sandwiches and more.

State 48 Tap House opens at Gilbert's SanTan Village



State 48 Tap House opened in March at 2218 E. Williams Field Road, Ste. 101, Gilbert, in the SanTan Village mall. The restaurant is an off-shoot of State 48 Brewery, one of six in the Valley. In addition to its beers, it has a menu of burgers, sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas, among other items.

Prickly Pear Paper closes, making way for Cactus Country design firm

Mark and Lauren Johnston closed Prickly Pear Paper on Feb. 20 at Barnone, the maker’s community in Agritopia, at 3000 E. Ray Road, Bldg. 6, Ste. 104, Gilbert. The company sold premium paper products and did letterpress printing and design work.

The couple has now opened Cactus Country as a multidisciplinary independent design firm specializing in brand identity and illustration.

Texas-based Torchy's Tacos to open Gilbert location

Texas-based Torchy’s Tacos plans to open its first Arizona location in a Santan Village parcel planned north of the northwest corner of Williams Field Road and Santan Village Parkway. It serves Mexican street-food-style tacos in many different varieties. No opening date has been announced.

The Annual Chandler Jazz festival returns to downtown Chandler this year April 8-10, according to a news release from the city of Chandler.
