Commercial service truck manufacturer plans to open Gilbert location after $6.56 million building purchase

A manufacturer and dealer of commercial service vehicles announced Jan. 2 that it will open a fifth U.S. location in Gilbert.

Curry Supply Company, based out of Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, is purchasing the former Silent-Aire facility at 1145 W. Gary Road in Gilbert’s Northwest Employment Corridor.

The Gilbert Economic Development Office said in a release that the company “will bring a significant investment and new manufacturing jobs” to Gilbert, but no figures on investment or jobs were immediately available.

Curry chose the Gilbert property because of its proximity to clients and the availability of a skilled work force, according to the release.

“We are a family-owned company whose successes are built on hard work, great customer service, and industry-leading quality products,” said Jason Ritchey, Curry Supply Company president and owner, in a statement. “We are excited to become part of the Gilbert, Arizona, community, where we are confident the local workforce will take an active role in our continued growth by embodying those very principles. This move will support our strong growth nationally by allowing us to better serve our expanding base of West Coast customers.”

The sale of the 55,392-square foot flex warehouse, a two-story building built on 3.16 acres in 2007, was for $6,563,952, according to documents from commercial sale-tracking site vizzda.com. Commerical real estate services firm CBRE arranged the sale. The building is near U.S. 60 and loops 101 and 202.

Curry manufactures trucks like dump trucks, fuel/lube trucks, mechanics/service trucks, vacuum trucks and water trucks and tanks, among others, that serve the construction, rental, mining, waste and oil and gas industries.

The company headquarters in Martinsburg is about halfway between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. It also has nearby Pennsylvania locations in Hollidaysburg and East Freedom, and a location in Deer Park, Texas, near Houston.

Silent-Aire, which manufactures HVAC systems and data centers, moved from the site when it opened a new facility south of the Loop 202-Santan Freeway in the town’s Central Business Corridor in October 2017.

“Gilbert is excited to welcome Curry Supply Company to our community,” Mayor Jenn Daniels said in the release. “Gilbert provides a skilled labor pool, strong regional infrastructure, and collaborative resources that will greatly benefit the company. We look forward to supporting them as they grow and positively impact the community.”
