Epicenter’s first ground-floor offerings unveiled

A pair of popular Valley eateries, a local boutique and a couple of grooming shops make up the first offerings to sign on at Agritopia’s Epicenter, according to a release on behalf of the developer.

Matt’s Big Breakfast and Gadzooks have built followings in the Valley.

Matt’s Big Breakfast, which first opened in downtown Phoenix in 2004, has grown to include two more Phoenix locations, include Sky Harbor Airport, a Tempe location and another planned location in north Scottsdale.

Gadzooks tags itself as enchiladas and soup. It has two locations in Phoenix and one in Tempe.

Epicenter is the walkable, vertical mixed-use development portion of Agritopia, the agrarian planned development from Joe Johnston’s Johnston & Co. development group. Agritopia has been developing over two decades, and Epicenter is its capstone, with ground-floor restaurants and retail and lofts on the floors above.

The first announced retail offerings include Bunky Boutique, which offers items from local designers. It has a location in downtown Phoenix and a second at Sky Harbor Airport.

The personal grooming spots are Wylde Salon and the Hooligans Barbershop.
