The city of Chandler is contemplating changes surrounding city code regarding urban chickens. The potential code changes would allow for up to five hens on all single-family properties, not just those zoned, which applies to about 200 residences.

The Chandler City Council will ultimately make a decision later this year.

The Chandler City Council considered changing the code back in 2013, but ultimately, the changes failed in a vote.

Community Impact Newspaper is working on a story about the potential changes in code for an upcoming issue and would like to talk to residents who own chickens, would like to own chickens or have any thoughts to share regarding the potential code changes. Please fill out this survey.
