The Chandler City Council voted unanimously during its Jan. 14 meeting to elect Mark Stewart as the city’s new vice mayor.

Stewart will serve in the position through Jan. 13, 2022.

"Serving my fellow residents is such an incredible honor, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to start my second term on the council as vice mayor,” Stewart said. “I thank my colleagues for selecting me to serve in this new role for the coming year.”

The meeting also marked the first for new Council Members OD Harris and Christine Ellis.

Stewart was re-elected in November for his second term on the Chandler City Council, which is set to expire in January 2024.
