Meeting notes: Chandler USD governing board elects president, approves funding for projects

The Chandler USD governing board met Jan. 13 and voted that Barb Mozdzen continue on as board president and that Jason Olive continue to serve as vice president of the board.

The board also approved a $170,625 agreement using 2019 bond funds with H.D.A Architects to provide design for eight tennis courts and a concession project at Casteel High School. The estimated construction cost of the project is $3.7 million-$4 million.


The board approved expenditures for chillers at Hamilton High School and Hull Elementary School. The chillers at each of the schools are outdated and in need of replacement, according to the district. The chillers at Hull will cost $491,397 and the chillers at Hamilton will cost $610,960. The chillers are part of the schools' air conditioning system. According to the district, some of the chillers have already failed and need replacement.
