Chandler USD officials are asking families to choose whether their student will attend school in person or online for the 2020-21 school year by July 14, according to a message sent to families and shared with Community Impact Newspaper.

All students will begin school Aug. 5 in an online format, either through Chandler Online Academy if the student will continue with online education or via Google Classroom if the student will attend school in person when campuses open.

"Before detailed instructional decisions can be made and course offerings can be solidified, all families are being asked to indicate their intent to return and select which instructional model they would like their child(ren) enrolled in for the start of the 2020-21 school year," read the email.

"We appreciate your ongoing support and patience as we address the challenges of these unprecedented times," read the email. "The teachers and staff of the Chandler Unified School District are eager to get back to serving our community and providing the first-class education that has made CUSD the Premier District of Choice and the No. 1-rated school district (Niche.com) in Maricopa County."
