The Chandler USD board approved the publication of the district's annual financial report at a meeting Sept. 25. The report is required by law to be submitted by Oct. 15 and to be published on the Arizona Department of Education website.

The board approved the publication of the report in a 4-0 vote, with Barb Mozdzen, governing board president, absent.

The report records the expenditures, revenues and transfers for the district and is used to create financial statements prepared by the district's auditors, according to CUSD Chief Financial Officer Lana Berry.

The report revealed that between state, federal and other funds, the district spent $8,162 per pupil in fiscal year 2018-19, the highest amount in 11 fiscal years.

Berry also broke down in a pie chart how out of the district's total FY 2018-19 maintenance and operations budget, 71.97% of funds went back into the classroom, 10.32% went toward administration and 17.71% went toward other uses.

The entire report is available to view on the district's website at www.cusd80.com.
