Mingle + Graze offers connection, community over grazing tables

Mahfam Moeeni-Alarcon said she always knew she was going to have a business. She went to culinary school and worked in and around restaurants and grocery stores such as Whole Foods before starting Mingle + Graze.

But the business did not start with its downtown Chandler storefront. Moeeni-Alarcon started in 2017 with her first grazing table—a board of cheese, meats, nuts and more—for an event. Then she got more and more orders for grazing tables, and before she knew it, she said she was looking for a commercial kitchen space in Chandler. Mingle + Graze opened in January 2019 in downtown Chandler.

“Grazing tables and charcuterie boards weren’t mainstream,” she said. “There was a lot of education when I first started.”

Her business ideas evolved over time, and eventually more items were added to the menu including grilled cheese sandwiches, a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, and alcohol.

“We were the first grazing table business in Chandler,” she said. “I wanted to use my knowledge of cheese and cheese boards to be at the center of the business, but we kept growing and evolving as more people came in.”

The grazing tables are still a key part of the business, Moeeni-Alarcon said. She takes catering orders for parties, weddings, business openings and more. A smaller version of the charcuterie board is also on the day-to-day menu.

“Food brings the community together, and that’s where the name came from,” Moeeni-Alarcon said. “People mingle and graze and come together. If you want to have the ultimate foodie experience, then come here. You will not find anything like this anywhere else.”
