Almost 3 million COVID-19 doses have been administered to Maricopa County residents as of May 4, according to the Maricopa County Department of Public Health.

More than 38% of all Maricopa County residents and almost 50% of Maricopa County residents 15 years and older have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to the health department. Of the vaccine doses administered, 45% of all vaccine doses given have been those that completed the vaccine series for a Maricopa County resident.

As vaccine demand at larger state-run vaccine sites decreases, the county health department is working with health care providers, pharmacies and community partners to increase the availability and convenience of vaccination, according to the county.

MCDPH expects the demand to increase once people 12-15 years of age are approved to receive the Pfizer vaccine, according to the county.
