COVID-19: Gilbert sees 24 new cases; county has increase of 17 cases and two deaths Sept. 8
Across Gilbert's six ZIP codes, there were 4,893 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 8, according to data from the state. That's an increase of 24 cases from over the previous day. That represents an increase of 1.16% across the town in the past seven days.

Across Chandler's six ZIP codes, there were 6,807 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on Sept. 8, according to data from the state—an increase of 28 reported cases from over the weekend. That overall number of cases represents an increase of 1.04% across the city in the past seven days.
COVID-19: Number of coronavirus-related hospitalizations declining across Arizona
The Arizona Department of Health Services has tracked COVID-19 hospitalization data since early April, and in recent days and weeks the number of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients admitted to a hospital has climbed. Of the 1,264,793 COVID-19 tests in Arizona, 12.2% have yielded positive results as of Sept. 8. This accounts for diagnostic test results, not antibody test results.
