COVID-19: Gilbert sees 200 new cases over the weekend; county has increase of 230 cases and 2 deaths June 29

Across Gilbert's six ZIP codes, there were 1,403 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on June 29, according to data from the state. That's an increase of 201 cases from June 26. That represents an increase of about 58% across the town in the past seven days.

The Arizona Department of Health Services has tracked COVID-19 hospitalization data since early April, and in recent days and weeks the number of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 patients admitted to a hospital has climbed. Of the 511,009 COVID-19 tests in Arizona, 11.7% have yielded positive results as of June 29. This accounts for diagnostic test results, not antibody test results.

Across Chandler's six ZIP codes, there were 2,202 confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 on June 29, according to data from the state—296 cases were reported over the weekend. That represents an increase of 44.02% across the city in the past seven days.
