Gilbert to start reopening park amenities

Gilbert will begin reopening some parks amenities this week, starting with the Freestone Recreation Center on May 15.

Chandler facilities and amenities: What's open coming soon or still closed

The Chandler City Council announced during a meeting Wednesday, May 13 that city facilities not previously opened would open May 18 as would the city's public pools beginning May 18. The update comes one day after Gov. Doug Ducey said the state's stay-at-home order will expire May 15 and that gyms and pools could open beginning May 13.



Chandler woman pivots business to help those with young children at home learn during pandemic

Katie Compton taught preschool and kindergarten for years in Tempe and Kyrene school districts, but when she had her first son, Ryder, four years ago, she wanted to stay home with him but wanted to continue her passion of education.

She founded Kickstart to Kinder, a business designed to get parents and students ready for kindergarten.
