The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 31 new coronavirus deaths May 6, with the statewide death toll to 426.

Maricopa County, with more than half of the state's population, has seen the most deaths of any Arizona county due to coronavirus. According to the ADHS, there have been 186 deaths in the county. Pima County has the second highest number of deaths at 116.


A majority of the state's coronavirus deaths have occurred in people 65 and older. That demographic accounts for 331 of the state's total deaths. The state also reports more men dying from the disease than women.
