Data: Across Arizona 15% of coronavirus cases have resulted in hospitalization

The Arizona Department of Health Services continues to release more detailed data about how the coronavirus is impacting the state. As of May 6, the state reported 1,430 cases resulted in hospitalization—15% of the total amount of cases statewide.


The number of hospitalizations fluctuates daily, according to the data.

Maricopa County, with more than half of the state's population, carries the majority of the state's hospitalizations at 794 on May 6.


Statewide, more men than women have been hospitalized with COVID-19. Additionally, those 65 and older make up a majority of hospitalizations statewide.
