Gov. Doug Ducey issued further guidance May 1 for retail stores planning to begin reopening next week. The guidance is divided between customers and the businesses.
Under Ducey's extension of the "Stay home, stay healthy, stay connected" directive, retail could begin reopening May 4 for delivery and curbside pickup services and May 8 for limited in-store service.
The Arizona Department of Health Services reported 7,962 confirmed cases of COVID-19 on May 1, an increase of 314 from the previous day. Additionally, the number of deaths is now 330, up 10 from the previous day.
Maricopa County now has 4,156 confirmed cases, an increase of 205 cases, and 152 deaths, an increase of seven.
