Since the city of Pearland passed a bond in May, the city has started work on bond-funded projects, including the Bailey Road expansion and the Pearland Parkway traffic circle. Here is the latest on both of those projects, as well as an update on Smith Ranch Road.

Bailey Road expansion
As Brazoria County's portion of the road project wraps up, Pearland will begin work on its portion of the Bailey Road expansion this month. The project will widen the two-lane roadway to a four-lane boulevard as well as include a new grade crossing above the railroad and drainage improvements.

Pearland Parkway Traffic Circle
The new traffic circle on Pearland Parkway is in the design phase after the motion to enter a contract for design services was passed at the July 8 City Council meeting. The new traffic circle will accommodate future growth and will be the safer choice due to the speed limit on that road, according to city staff. The traffic circle will replace the roundabout on Pearland Parkway.
