The City of Cedar Park Travel and Tourism Department is encouraging residents and visitors to participate in a monthly Instagram contest beginning May 20 with a chance for their picture to appear in the city’s new visitors brochure.
The Austin ISD board of trustees is assessing a variety of options for how to use the Allan Elementary School campus next year, including leasing it, renovating it and leaving it empty while it seeks community input on potential uses.
According to unofficial results from Hays County officials, Marty Kanetzky has won the District 5 seat on the Hays CISD Board of Trustees with 60.36 percent of the vote. Debbie Munoz, Kanetzky’s challenger, received 39.64 percent of the vote.
According to unofficial results, Katy ISD Board of Trustees Position 1 incumbent Joe Adams narrowly secured another term in office. He received 2,198 votes, just edging out challenger Wayne Dolcefino who won 2,132 votes. Tim Dietz received 185.
All three City of Katy races saw narrow victories, chiefly with Fabol Hughes’ victory as mayor by less than 1 percent. Hughes received 739 votes (50.9 percent) and Carol Adams garnered 713 (49.1 percent), according to unofficial results.
Unofficial voting results indicate 76.1 percent of voters supported a sales tax increase within Emergency Services District No. 14, which covers Volente and the Bella Vista and Twin Creeks subdivisions.
According to unofficial results, voters supported Tomball ISD’s $160 million bond 69 percent to 31 percent. Harris County has 94 percent of precincts counted and Montgomery County has all precincts reporting.
