Residents of Clear Lake and League City have likely heard the term “master-planned community” dozens of times, as there are several in the area.

Unlike regular neighborhoods, a master-planned community features more than the basic neighborhood park. It includes trails, nature centers, golf courses, retail and other amenities that contribute to the oft-heard live, work and play appeal of the area.

In our Real Estate Edition this month, we take a look at where some of the growth is happening regarding new homes in the Bay Area, and it should come as no surprise that master-planned communities are among the subdivisions with new home starts in the area.

Master-planned communities—such as Coastal Point, Magnolia Creek and Tuscan Lakes—are expected to add hundreds of homes in the next few years the housing market continues its upswing.
