1. Take part in community Thanksgiving
The City of Georgetown will host two community-wide dinners of Thanksgiving Day. A sit-down meal as well as boxed take-out meals will include turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, rolls and sweet potatoes. 2. Georgetown Turkey Trot offers 5K run and 1 mile walk
Hosted by the Georgetown Running Club and the Georgetown Sertoma Club, the Georgetown Turkey Trot starts and finishes at the Georgetown Square. Proceeds will be shared between the Williamson County Meals on Wheels and Friends of Georgetown Parks and Recreation. 3. Grab Thanksgiving brunch at Brix and Ale

4. Witness the annual lighting of the square
Don’t miss the annual lighting of square in downtown Georgetown. Hosted on the day after Thanksgiving, the event will have Christmas carolers, holiday shopping, arts and crafts and photos with Santa inside the courthouse. 5. Glimmer of Hope Benefit remembers those lost to cancer
Driving Hope of Texas hosts the Glimmer of Hope benefit on Black Friday to help solve the lack of suitable transportation for cancer patients. Attendees will see a display of personalized luminaries that will honor those who are fighting cancer as well as memorialize those who have fought and lost the battle. 6. Pick out your Christmas tree at Sweet Eats Fruit Farm
Sweet Eats Fruit Farm will have North Carolina Fraser Firs available for purchase on Black Friday. The purchase of a tree includes a dozen gingerbread cookies that can be decorated at the farm or at home. In addition, admission will be 30 percent off.
