Get all your back-to-school shopping done while taking advantage of the sales tax holiday. Tax Free Weekend begins Friday and runs through Sunday. Several stores will be offering extended hours and sales, including Wolf Ranch Shopping Center.

Georgetown Parks throws Back-to-School Pirate Party
Enjoy an end-of-summer celebration at the Georgetown Recreation Center Outdoor Play Pool. The event is geared toward children ages 2-8 years old. There will be raffle drawings, games and swimming. Aug. 12 is National Vinyl Record Day, and Williamson County Museum is celebrating with a hands-on learning experience on the history of records. Buda’s Downtown Dash, Friday
Downtown Dash is an event inspired by The Amazing Race that will take place in downtown Buda. Teams of two participants will decipher clues and compete against each other in various tasks at different downtown businesses. The first 10 teams to complete this registration form and post payment will receive automatic entry into the competition, and the subsequent teams will be added to a waiting list in the order that they applied. Team entry fee is $20 (for both contestants). 7-9 p.m. $20.
