2. Adams Street reconstruction: Drainage and pavement work will continue until reconstruction is completed, which is anticipated to take place in October, said Cory Stottlemyer, Missouri City media relations specialist.
Timeline: October 2017-October 2018

3. Ashmont Drive reconstruction: Work crews are continuing progress to reconstruct the roadway, excluding sidewalks, from La Quinta to Valley Bend drives in Missouri City, Stottlemyer said. The street was identified in a citywide pavement evaluation as the most in need of total reconstruction.
Timeline: January 2018-January 2019

4. Glenn Lakes bridge reconstruction: Crews are rebuilding the bridge over Oyster Creek. It is closed during construction between West Creek Club and East Creek Club drives in Missouri City. Motorists may take the detour route north to cross the waterway on Hampton Drive until the project is completed, Stottlemyer said.
Timeline: October 2017-August 2018

Future projects


5. Independence Boulevard Segment 1/Staffordshire Road reconstruction: This project will reconstruct Independence Boulevard’s two-lane roadway into a four-lane divided roadway, realigning it to meet the intersection at Staffordshire Road. The project will also reconstruct the two-lane asphalt roadway of Staffordshire Road into a two-lane concrete roadway. Lane closures will be required and detour information from Missouri City will be shared at a later date, Stottlemyer said. Construction is anticipated to begin in July.

6. Hwy. 6 improvements: Construction plans to expand Hwy. 6 from six to eight lanes from Brooks Street to Lexington Boulevard in Sugar Land are under review by the Texas Department of Transportation, pending approval, said Doug Adolph, Sugar Land assistant communications director. Once approved, construction will be from 8 p.m.-5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday each week to lessen effects on nearby businesses.
