Kathy Cook and Casey Clawson won the two open positions on the Upper Brushy Creek Water Control and Improvement District board of directors in the at-large election May 5. Clawson received 3,543 votes, or 25.17 percent. "I’m looking forward to help out folks in Round Rock West for one, as well as maintain the existing safety of the dams that we have and do it in the most responsible way possible—in keeping control of the taxes and doing what’s right for people," Clawson said Saturday night.  Cook brought in 4,833 votes, or 34.33 percent.
"I’m thrilled at the results. I think that everybody lead a very respectful campaign, and I appreciate everyone's hard work," Cook said Saturday night.
Cook and Clawson defeated board President Jeff Sawyer, who brought in 2,848 votes, or 20.23 percent, and board Vice President Robert Adams, who received 2,855 votes, or 20.48 percent.
