With 21 out of 22 precincts reporting in Montgomery County, incumbent Jim Kuykendall has taken a commanding lead over challenger Dan Broyles for mayor of Oak Ridge North, with 69.73 percent of the vote, or 341 votes. Broyles received 30.27 percent of the vote, or 148 votes. "I'm very pleased—70 percent of the vote is pretty awesome," Kuykendall said. "It's really true the people of Oak Ridge North like what we're doing, and they like the direction we're going in and this pretty much proves it despite all the negative campaigning and the misleading information the people saw through it. I'm proud of the citizens." Kuykendall said he is looking forward to working with residents and staff in his next term. "I'm looking forward to trying to help pull the city back together and just go forward in the direction we're going," he said. "We're going in a very positive way, and I look forward to the good things that are going to happen in the future." All results are unofficial until canvassed.
