The coffee-roasting facility, brewery and taproom being constructed behind Austin Java’s new location in Dripping Springs are some new amenities the business is using to launch a new image for the cafe.

Austin Java opened its fifth Austin-area location in February, situated just outside Southwest Austin in Dripping Springs.

The Austin staple, which was established in 1995, is known for its expansive menu that includes locally roasted coffee, all-day breakfast, and lunch and dinner dishes.

The Dripping Springs location will take a new approach with its food menu, Training Director Anthony Cambra said. The menu was curated entirely from scratch and sourced from local farmers and producers. A smokehouse located behind restaurant will smoke the menu’s meats.

The cocktail menu has also been updated to include fresh, in-house ingredients and spirits. The on-site brewery and taproom, Distant State Beer Co., is working in partnership with Austin Java on a few different options as well.

Still under construction is a two-story warehouse that will serve as a brewery and taproom, coffee-roasting facility, beer garden and corporate headquarters. A wine lounge is also still in the works.

Special Events Manager Cindy Reed said she hopes that once the warehouse is complete, the space could also be used for community events.

“We are doing anything we can to utilize our space to give back to our community,” Cambra said. “A lot of people have been to Austin Java before and know that we are not trying to infiltrate Austin into Dripping Springs but trying to be part of their community.”

Before the end of the year, Cambra said Austin Java plans to open four more locations including in San Marcos and near the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

“We have all kinds of brand new policies, procedures and recipes here at Austin Java in Dripping Springs,” Cambra said. “Once we get [new policies] implemented, our goal is to bring as much consistency and continuity amongst all locations.”
