Developers with the Bridgeland master-planned community plan to open the newest neighborhood, Parkland Village, this weekend. A grand opening event will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, at the Parkland Village Model Home Park, located at the corner of Bridgeland Creek Parkway and Creekside Bend Boulevard in Cypress.

Once fully built out, Parkland Village will cover 1,200 acres of land—including 350 acres of parks, lakes and trails—and feature more than 3,100 homesites, according to officials with The Howard Hughes Corporation, the development company behind Bridgeland. It is the second of four planned villages within Bridgeland's master plan. The first, Lakeland Village, opened in 2006.

Home prices at Parkland Village will be similar to Lakeland Village with a wide range of price points from the $200,000s to over $1 million, said Health Melton, vice president of master-planned communities with Howard Hughes.

Attendees at the grand opening event can visit the model home park, participate in outdoor activities like goat yoga, listen to live music and view the 140-acre Josey Lake as work nears completion. Amenities along the lake will include a kayak pavilion, main pavilion, event lawn and observational birding tower.

The model home park features more than 20 model homes from builders such as Beazer Homes, Lennar and Perry Homes. A recreation center is also in the works, officials said.

“It will include a resort-style pool with a beach entry [and] a lazy river,” Melton said. “The fitness center will have a fitness pool with dedicated lap lanes.”

A second event is being planned for April 7.
