Correction: A previous version of this item incorrectly stated the $82,145 expenditure would fund the demolition of the Collinwood House. Although city officials have said they plan to ultimately demolish the building, Deputy City Manager Mark Israelson said none of the funding considered Monday would go toward tearing down the building.

1. Collinwood House expenditure to go before Plano City Council

The Plano City Council will vote on an $82,145 expenditure that would fund "architectural services related to the removal of the Collinwood House," one of the first steps in removing the building from the property, according to a memo from city staff. The vote will take place at the council's Sept. 25 meeting at the Plano Municipal Center, 1520 K. Ave., Plano. The future of the Collinwood House, located at Windhaven Meadows Park, has been an item of controversy among city officials and residents, as it is believed to be one of the oldest houses within city limits. Plans to renovate the house failed to secure a majority of votes in the May 6 bond referendum. Council members will also be briefed by Dallas Area Rapid Transit on the status of the long-awaited Cotton Belt line, whose financing plans recently received approval from the DART board.
