1. Bee Cave Public Library closes for renovations

Over the weekend, Bee Cave Public Library closed to install new carpeting, shelves and furniture. It will remain closed until Sept. 12. Library materials can be returned at outdoor book drops while the library is closed. Questions may be sent to [email protected].

2. Leander ISD students head back to school Monday

Students throughout Leander ISD will hit the books again Monday for the 2017-18 school year, and district officials say they are monitoring Hurricane Harvey as it moves in from the Gulf of Mexico. The district will inform parents of any changes through the district’s website at www.leanderisd.org, email, social media and/or an automated phone call.

3. Worth the trip: Community health forum talks healthy choices Wednesday

Representatives from Travis County, the city of Austin and regional medical industry organizations partner for the community health forum. Stephanie Hayden, interim director of Austin Public Health, provides a presentation about the 2017 Community Health Assessment.

5. Lakeway City Council reviewed concept plan for City Center

6. Eanes ISD lowered tax rate for 2017-2018

Eanes ISD board of trustees met last week to set the 2017-18 tax rate and discuss enrollment and new hires for the school year. The tax rate was set to $1.20 per $100 valuation, a decrease of 1.25 cents from the previous year. Find out more.
