The restaurant is celebrating its 65th anniversary today with live music and family-friendly fun. Patrons are encouraged to stop by and enjoy a live performance from Austin-based Latin music group El Tule. Mariachi Castro and magician Greg Onken will also take part in the celebration. Free to attend. Dishes on the menu and daily specials will vary in price.

Thousand Cranes of Peace campaign event

Asian Family Support Services of Austin, an Austin nonprofit serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence, is unveiling an installation of over 1,000 origami cranes on Friday. AFSSA’s Thousand Cranes of Peace campaign raises awareness and helps fund critical programs that provide advocacy, counseling, and other resources to families suffering from domestic violence, sexual assault or trafficking. Free; $10 donations accepted.

The community is invited to tour the facility at a grand opening party.
