Between the previewing of Conroe ISD's 2017-18 budget and the appointment of a new Conroe Department of Public Works Director, here are a few things residents of Conroe and Montgomery should know this week, June 19-23.

1. The Conroe ISD board of trustees meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday to discuss the preliminary 2017-18 budget and consider approval of employee raises and stipends. 2. Conroe City Council meets at 2 p.m. Wednesday for a work session and again at 9:30 a.m. Thursday for the action agenda. Items up for consideration include the appointment of a new Department of Public Works Director, the incorporation of 5.9 acres of land into Municipal Utility District No. 1 and the adoption of the CDBG 2017 Annual Action Plan.

3. Plans at Grand Texas Theme Park are moving forward, according to the park’s CEO Monty Galland. Construction on the water park at Grand Texas, which is located near the intersection of Hwy. 59 and Hwy. 242 just north of Kingwood, could be completed by spring 2018. The news comes after months of delays regarding the project, which was projected to open this summer. For more details, click here.
