Cinco de Mayo isn’t the only celebration going on this weekend. Here’s a look at other events happening in the Georgetown area, as well as few things to know:

Thursday 

National Day of Prayer
Main Street Ministry Center is hosting the 26th annual Georgetown Prayer Event from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at 111 W. 10th St., Georgetown, on Thursday evening.

Friday

Cinco de Mayo at Mesquite Creek
Located on the Square at 704 S. Austin Ave., Georgetown, Mesquite Creek Outfitters is hosting a Cinco de Mayo celebration featuring a food truck that will serve beef fajitas, tacos al pastor, carnitas, fish tacos, chicken tacos al fresco, and braised beef with chipotle cream. The staff will be dressed to theme and serving the usual beverages starting at 5 p.m.

Fiesta at El Monumento
The restaurant will feature food and drink specials for Cinco de Mayo including jalapeño watermelon margaritas and chile seared scallops at 205 W. Second St. in Georgetown.

Spring Sip-n-Shop
The Downtown Georgetown Association event features the theme of “Talk Derby to Me.” Participants are encouraged to wear big hats and bowties. Attendees can partake in live jazz on the Square, a fashion show, music at various venues, shopping and promotions.

Teen Movie Night
The Georgetown Recreation Center is hosting a teen movie night the first Friday of every month. This week's event features a viewing of "Doctor Strange" as well as popcorn, snacks and games.

First Fridays at Domain Northside
Domain Northside kicks off the first of its monthly series this week. Select stores will offer customers discounts and specials, including a signature cocktail at Guideboat, a complimentary beverage and 10 percent off at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and a free mystery tee bat with every $150 purchase as Marine Layer. Ruby & The Reckless performs live music.

Saturday 

Tee Up for CASA Golf Tournament
Court Appointed Special Advocates of Williamson County hosts the sixth annual day of golf to help children who have been abused or neglected reach
safe, permanent homes. The event also features lunch,  a silent auction, raffle and awards ceremony.

Tango Flight banquet
The Tango Flight Recognition Banquet & Fundraiser is being held this weekend to raise funds and awareness for and about 24 Georgetown ISD students who are working to build an RV-12 aircraft. The event features a silent auction, guest speaker and more.

Williamson County Historical Commission Memorial Brick Program
The Williamson County Historical Commission is sponsoring a memorial brick program for the residents of Williamson County to enshrine names on the grounds of the Historic Williamson County Courthouse.

The proceeds from the $50 bricks, will be used by the Historical Commission to further the oral history program of Williamson County.

Public Safety Symposium
Registration is now open for the 2017 Public Safety Symposium hosted by Williamson County Emergency Services on May 9-11. The training will focus on the job of telecommunicator, but also is beneficial to people working in law enforcement, fire, EMS and other public safety personnel.

Local and nationally known speakers will cover topics such as customer service by Mark Warren with the Texas Association of Counties, and John Kelly on how to keep your 9-1-1 call center out of the headlines. In addition, Sheriff Robert Chody will speak on public safety inter-communication, and Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Bill Gravell will be speaking on the role and function of the Texas Justice of the Peace.
