Steiner Ranch eatery Zack’s American Bistro, 5145 N. RR 620, Bldg. C, Austin, closed March 9.

The restaurant, located in the Quinlan Crossing Shopping Center, was a Four Points eatery that served lunch, dinner and weekend brunch with menu items including burgers, salads, sandwiches, pasta, steaks and seafood.

A lockout notice posted on the establishment’s door and dated March 9 from the property manager Whitestone REIT/Whitestone Quinlan Crossing to Zack’s Quinlan Crossing as tenant stated the closure was the result of “delinquency of rent payment.”

Although telephone calls and emails from Community Impact Newspaper to Zack’s managing partner Tracy Shinsel as well as Whitestone were not returned, the restaurant’s Facebook page includes a March 11 post that the eatery’s owners had been “working with the property owner regarding rent, maintenance and property tax increases that we thought were very unreasonable.”

“[The lockout] happened very quickly, and we were not notified in advance,” the Facebook post stated.

Zack’s opened in 2013 in Quinlan Crossing, and the Randalls-anchored shopping center was acquired by Houston-based Whitestone REIT in August 2015 for $37.5 million.
