The Pflugerville ISD board of trustees filled four principal vacancies for the 2017-18 school year.

Camille Ramirez-Longoria, the current principal at Wieland Elementary School, will move to fill an upcoming opening as principal at Spring Hill Elementary School. Taking Ramirez-Longoria’s position at Wieland will be current Assistant Principal Jared Stevenson. PfISD’s two primary schools, Windermere and Delco, will also have new principals in 2017-18. Angela Hodges, Windermere’s current assistant principal, has been named that school’s new principal. Lizbeth Ruiz, current assistant principal at Highland Park Elementary School, will move to Delco as its new principal.

“We are excited to bring experienced educators and administrators into these important positions of leadership for PfISD,” interim Superintendent Gary Patterson said. “Given their diverse background and skills, we know that our students and staff will benefit from their direction and vision.”

Ramirez-Longoria has been the principal at Wieland since 2014. Before that, she was the assistant principal at Delco and Caldwell Elementary School from 2010-14. From 1993-2010, she held several teaching and administrative positions with Austin ISD. She earned a bachelor’s degree in applied learning and development from The University of Texas and a master’s degree in educational administration from Tarleton State University.

Stevenson has served as the assistant principal at Wieland since 2013. Prior to that, he held a teaching position in PfISD at Copperfield Elementary School from 2004-09, and he was an assistant principal and instructional administrator in Del Valle ISD from 2009-13. Stevenson has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Millersville University and a master’s degree in education administration from Concordia University Texas in Austin.

Hodges has held numerous teaching and administrative positions in PfISD since 2007, including roles as a teacher, administrative intern, instructional coach and assistant principal as well as a summer school principal in 2016. She has been Windermere’s assistant principal since 2015. Hodges received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Louisiana State University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Prior to joining Highland Park in 2015 as assistant principal, Ruiz had been a teacher, instructional coach, bilingual interventionist, administrative intern, and summer school principal at several PfISD elementary and primary schools since 2010. Prior to that, she was a bilingual teacher for six years in McAllen ISD. Ruiz received a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Texas Pan American and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler.
