Fire Chief Darrell Brown gave a presentation on Feb. 7 to Grapevine City Council members in which he updated them on the fire department’s accomplishments.

Brown also told council members that Firehouse No. 1 would be remodeled and repurposed once staff relocates to the new Public Safety Building. Land to rebuild Firehouse No. 2 and Firehouse No. 3 in the future has been purchased, Brown said.

He said a bond would be needed to rebuild Firehouse No. 2 and No. 3.

“We hope to be talking to [council] in January 2018 ... as soon as we pass the bond, and we will be asking our citizens to support us there,” he said.

A bond election would have to be called in the summer for it to be on the November ballot.
