Several businesses on South Congress Avenue in and around what is known as the Soco Center, between 1011 and 1123 S. Congress Ave., are vacating so a 113,300-square-foot, mixed-use development called Music Lane can be built.

Among the recently closed businesses on South Congress are Snack Bar, Sfanthor House of Wax, Doc’s Motorworks, Off the Wall and Friends of Sound Records. Parts and Labour is moving into the former Off the Wall and Friends of Sound Records space at 1704 S. Congress Ave.
What’s next
A construction timeline for the new development has not been given, and the developers declined to provide an update or comment when contacted by Community Impact Newspaper in January.
