1. Last week, Austin City Council approved the planned unit development, or PUD, on a second of three readings for The Grove at Shoal Creek, a 75-are mixed-use development along Bull Creek Road and W. 45th Street. Council is slated to give final approval for the zoning change at its meeting Thursday. The approval comes after developer ARG Bull Creek LTD and neighborhood group Bull Creek Road Coalition emerged from nearly two months of mediation with an agreement for expanded park development, affordable housing and traffic infrastructure improvements.

2. The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar starts Thursday at the Palmer Events Center and runs until Christmas Eve. The 11-day fine art shopping destination features national and local award-winning artists, live music and two full bars. The bazaar opens at 10 a.m. each day.

3. As part of the city's Vision Zero Action Plan that aims to eliminate pedestrian deaths, the Austin City Council Mobility Committee passed a resolution Wednesday that recommends lower speed limits in various parts of the city.  The resolution is slated to go before council Thursday.

4. A new studio in East Austin is offering free yoga classes throughout the month of December. Stretch Yoga Studio, which offers three types of yoga classes, opened Dec. 2 in one of the retail spots at mixed-use development The Arnold, 1621 E. Sixth St., Ste. 1113, Austin. Space for the free classes is limited and students must sign up online.
