 1. Goforth/High Road closure
The Plum Creek Conservation District is about one-third of the way through a project to rehabilitate a high-hazard dam east of Kyle. The project has forced the closure of Goforth/High Road near Green Pastures Road.


Timeline: October 2015-June 2017

2. Goforth Road expansion
Work on Goforth Road, which will be expanded to include two to three lanes in areas between I-35 and Bunton Creek Road, began in April. Drainage structures were placed in part of the project area in September. The portion of the road from Bunton Creek to Steeplechase was opened in early October.

3. Bunton Creek Road rebuild
Reconstruction of Bunton Creek Road was set to begin Nov. 4. The city of Kyle plans to reconstruct the 1-mile portion of Bunton Creek from I-35 to Lehman Road.

4. Hwy. 123 overpass
The Texas Department of Transportation is building an overpass on Hwy. 123 over Wonder World Drive in San Marcos. The first bridge deck was poured in September, and TxDOT expected to pour the second in October. The project is aimed at improving safety and mobility in the area.

5. Post Road bridge replacement
The Post Road bridge over the Blanco River in San Marcos was washed away during the Memorial Day weekend flood in May 2015. A temporary bridge is currently in place, and construction of a permanent replacement has been delayed to allow Union Pacific Corp. to review plans for the bridge. The contract for the project is slated to be awarded in May.
