Local ramen restaurant Michi Ramen opened its second location at 3005 S. Lamar Blvd., Ste. D-114 on June 17, serving authentic Japanese cuisine to Southwest Austinites.
The ramen shop had a soft opening, so a limited selection of the full menu is available, owner Freddie Lee said. On June 23, the ramen offerings at the South Lamar location will mirror the ones available at the original Michi Ramen on 6519 N. Lamar Blvd., he added.
One menu difference between the two locations is that the side items will be limited at the takeout and delivery-only South Lamar Boulevard location, Lee said.
And for the time being, the South Lamar Boulevard location will be open only for dinner service, from 5 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Sunday. At some time in the future, the hours too, will mirror the North Lamar Blvd. shop’s hours, Lee said.
Online ordering and delivery is coming to the new restaurant at an unspecified date, Lee said. The store features a takeout window for customers who place call-in or online orders.
“We’ve been working on this project for quite some time and we’re excited to get to the point where we can finally open … We’re excited to be in the area," Lee said.
